II Congress of Honorary Consuls in the city of Nur-Sultan

The 2nd Congress of Honorary Consuls was held on September 26-27, 2019 in Nur-Sultan on the platform of the 12th KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum at EXPO 2017.

The Society of Honorary Consuls have organized this large-scale event together with partners represented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, KazEnergy, NC Kazakh Invest JSC, Atameken NCE RK, the World Federation of Consuls FICAC. The 1st Congress of Honorary Consuls was held 2 years ago and lasted only one day. However, the 2nd Congress lasted two days, which allowed us to devote the first day to sessions on consular issues together with the participation of OPEC President, Mohammed Barkindo, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Askar Mamin, Chairman of the Board of NWF Samruk-Kazyna JSC, Akhmetzhan Yessimov, etc. at the KazEnergy plenary session, and the second day - sessions that revealed the investment potential of Kazakhstan in significant sectors of the economy.

The sessions of the second day of the Congress were devoted to agricultural, transport and logistics, tourism and export potentials. The speakers were high-level representatives of ministries and departments. The Congress participants, Honorary Consuls, who are big businessmen, came from all over the world, from more than 40 countries, such as Mexico, Dominican Republic, Liechtenstein, Brunei, Malaysia, Germany, Italy, Finland, Sierra Leone, USA, England, South Africa, Greece, Czech Republic, Belgium, Netherlands, etc.

It is also worth noting that within the framework of the 2nd Congress of Honorary Consuls, a visit to the Astana International Financial Center (AIFC) took place. The guests were able to visit all the AIFC subsidiaries, including the Exchange, the Court, the AIFC Expat Center, etc. Now they have a full understanding of how these important institutions can help future investors.

Moreover, on September 25, the day before the start of the congress, the delegates could optionally take part in a city tour, which included visits to various cultural sites of Nur-Sultan, such as the Baiterek Monument, the Hazret Sultan Mosque and so on. And on September 26, the delegates took part in the entertainment program, attending a solemn concert at the Astana Opera and Ballet Theater followed by a buffet. On September 27, the last day of the program, the congress solemnly ended with a gala dinner in the ballroom of the Hilton Astana Hotel.
