Volgograd, April 28, 2025 – A formal ceremony was held in Volgograd to mark the opening of the office of the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In his welcome remarks, H.E. Daulet Abayev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to the Russian Federation, emphasized the importance of establishing the consular presence as a means of strengthening interregional cooperation. He noted that the opening of the Honorary Consulate would serve as an additional incentive to broaden economic, cultural, humanitarian, and educational ties.
Mikhail Bityutskiy, Chairman of the Committee on Territorial Entities, Internal and Information Policy of the Volgograd Region, called the opening of the Honorary Consul’s office a logical continuation of centuries-old neighborly relations, mutual support, and shared development.
Vasily Kiyaev, a local entrepreneur and former member of the Volgograd City Duma, was appointed as the Honorary Consul of Kazakhstan in Volgograd. In his address, he expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him by the authorities of both countries and the regional leadership, pledging to actively promote the development of partnership relations.
