Blagoevgrad, October 18, 2024 – Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Bulgaria Viktor Temirbayev paid an official visit to the cultural and educational centre of Southwestern Bulgaria – Blagoevgrad city.
The main event of the visit was the opening ceremony of the Honorary Consulate of Kazakhstan in Blagoevgrad. The well-known businessman and founder of a number of large companies in the region Rashko Dinkov was appointed as Honorary Consul. The event was attended by the Mayor of the Blagoevgrad region Georgi Dinev, the leadership of the city municipality, representatives of the public, business, scientific and cultural circles.
Emphasizing the high level of relations between our countries, Ambassador Viktor Temirbayev noted that Bulgaria is one of the largest trade and economic partners of Kazakhstan in the Balkans.
The Kazakh diplomat noted the importance of opening the Honorary Consulate of Kazakhstan in Blagoevgrad, which activates cooperation on joint projects in agriculture and industry.
Mayor of Blagoevgrad region Dinev stressed the high economic potential of Kazakhstan and its development. Honorary Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan Rashko Dinkov expressed readiness to intensify trade, economic and cultural cooperation.
At the meeting between Ambassador Temirbayev and Mayor of Blagoevgrad Baykushev, the role of interregional cooperation and bilateral issues were discussed. The Ambassador familiarized with the political reforms in the country and the Message of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Mayor Baykushev confirmed his readiness to develop cooperation with Kazakhstan. The visit also included a meeting with local businesses, presented potential investment opportunities and support measures for foreign investors.
Within the framework of educational cooperation, the Kazakh diplomat held a meeting with the president of the American University in Bulgaria, Marji Ensain, and discussed prospects for joint work.
Viktor Temirbayev also met with Kazakh students and informed them about the task of the consular service and maintaining contact with the consul. Also taking the opportunity, the Kazakh diplomat wished the students success in their studies, emphasizing the importance of quality education for the future of Kazakhstan.
Blagoevgrad is the cultural and educational centre of Southwestern Bulgaria and the administrative centre of the Blagoevgrad municipality. The city has a developed industry, trade and transport infrastructure. In general, Blagoevgrad is the most dynamically developing centre in the region.
