Meeting of the members of the DBC and Society of honorary consuls with the Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, M.S.Ashimbayev

December 14, 2023, Astana. - Today, a meeting of members of the Diplomatic Business Club and the Society of Honorary Consuls took place in Astana, where foreign diplomats and representatives of the business community got acquainted with the investment opportunities of Kazakhstan.

The meeting of the Diplomatic Business Club was attended by Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Maulen Ashimbayev, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alibek Bakayev, Co-Chairman of the Diplomatic Business Club, Islambek Salzhanov, Chairman of the Presidium of  "Atameken" NCE RK, Raimbek Batalov, Chairman of YPO Kazakhstan Kanat Kopbayev, Chairman of the Board of the Society of Honorary Consuls, Denis Van den Weghe, heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Kazakhstan and leaders of the business community of Kazakhstan.

Speaking to the members of the Club, the Speaker of the Senate, Maulen Ashimbayev, stressed that at the initiative of the President of the country, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, a comprehensive reform is being implemented to renovate the country. One of the key tasks of today is the formation of a new economic model for the development of the country. "Kazakhstan adheres to the principles of openness today and actively develops comprehensive cooperation with other countries in economic, political, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres," the Chairman of the Senate noted.

"Thanks to the reforms carried out by the Head of State to reset the political system and socio-economic modernization, equal opportunities for everyone to do business appear in Kazakhstan. There is a real demonopolization of the economy of Kazakhstan. Strengthening the fight against corruption, affirming the principle of the rule of law and fair justice create favorable opportunities for attracting foreign investors to Kazakhstan," Islambek Salzhanov stressed.

In his speech, Chairman of the Presidium of the  "Atameken" NCE RK Raimbek Batalov noted that the Diplomatic Business Club allows foreign investors to find reliable partners in Kazakhstan. This is one of the main directions of this club.

During the meeting, the executive director of the Diplomatic Business Club, Sayazhan Tuyakova, spoke about the upcoming events of the Club for 2024. Among them there are the organization of business tours for heads of diplomatic missions to the regions of Kazakhstan, business breakfasts of diplomats with leaders of the business community, meetings with heads of ministries and other events. The upcoming 5th World Nomad Games, which will be held in September next year in Astana, were also presented to the members of the Diplomatic Business Club.

It should be noted that on December 2, 2020, the Society of Honorary Consuls and the Diplomatic Business Club signed a Memorandum of Understanding, which provides for close cooperation between members of the SHC and the DBC, including through the participation of members of the SHC in events organized by the DBC and vice versa.

The Diplomatic Business Club was founded on July 2, 2015 at the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and NCE RK "Atameken". The Club's members are heads of diplomatic missions of foreign states accredited in Kazakhstan, leaders of the business community of the Republic of Kazakhstan, heads of international organizations, government agencies, national companies, members of YPO Kazakhstan Integrated, etc. DBK organizes business forums, conferences, study tours of the diplomatic corps to the regions of Kazakhstan for its members to present their investment opportunities, as well as holds meetings with the leadership of sectoral ministries and departments of Kazakhstan and informal events.
