Diplomatic breakfast at the Diplomat Hotel in Astana

December 12, 2023, Astana - A Diplomatic Breakfast was held at the Diplomat Hotel dedicated to the topic: "Natural resources, oil and gas, extraction of rare earth metals." This event, organized by the Society of Honorary Consuls, with the support of Karymsakov Serik Itenovich, Honorary Consul of Indonesia, represents a significant step towards finding common strategies and solutions for the sustainable use of oil, gas and other valuable natural resources.

It is important to note that the meeting became a unique platform for discussing the challenges associated with the exploitation of rare earth metals, which play a key role in various high-tech industries.

The event brought together representatives of more than 30 countries, including Japan, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Uzbekistan, Portugal, Lithuania, Belgium, Great Britain, Slovakia, the USA and many others. The event was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps of various countries: Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Honorary Consuls, diplomats of embassies. Among the speakers who made presentations, we need to mention Adviser to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Bolat Akchulakov, Vice Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ilyas Ospanov, Deputy General Director of Tengizchevroil, Konilkosh Suesinov, Vice President of WPC Energy, Dzhambulat Sarsenov, etc.

Chairman of the Board of the Society of Honorary Consuls, Mr. Denis Van den Weghe, speaking at the event, stressed the following: "Kazakhstan, which has extensive natural resources, has long been a beacon of energy prosperity. During a free discussion after the speeches of the speakers of the Diplomatic Breakfast, the participants discussed the prospects for the development of innovative approaches to the extraction and use of natural resources, as well as exchanged ideas on creating more sustainable models for the energy industry, taking into account environmental aspects and global challenges.
