The opening of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan took place in the state of Penang (Malaysia)

On October 2, the first honorary consulate of Kazakhstan in the state of Penang, one of the most economically developed Malaysian states, was inaugurated. Mr. Louis Ng Chun Hau, the founder and CEO of "Public Gold Group," has been appointed as the Honorary Consul of Kazakhstan in Penang.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Deputy Secretary of the Department of South and Central Asia at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Malaysia, as well as representatives of the state government.

Ambassador B. Sugurbayev emphasized the significance of opening the Honorary Consulate in Penang, noting that it marks a new stage in the development of Kazakhstan-Malaysia partnership. This development opens up new opportunities for deepening economic ties and strengthening cultural and humanitarian cooperation. There is enormous potential for business, trade, tourism, and cultural interactions both in Kazakhstan and the state of Penang.

Another promising area of collaboration is in the field of technology and innovation, encompassing technology transfer, innovative initiatives, as well as research and development. Penang, known for its developed electrical and electronics sector, offers significant potential for the exchange and advancement of knowledge in technology and innovation with Kazakhstan. Penang is the third-largest center for economic development in Malaysia and is famous as the "second Silicon Valley" due to its significant involvement in electronics manufacturing with the participation of international corporations.
