A solemn ceremony was held to open the Honorary Consulate of Kazakhstan in one of the picturesque regions of Serbia, with the consular district including the Zlatibor Administrative District. Mr. Nikolay Vorobyev, a successful entrepreneur in the field of medicine, has been appointed as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Zlatibor District.
The event was attended by the Minister of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Nikola Selaković, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mirjana Zivkovic, the head of the Zlatibor District, Desimir Popović, the Mayor of Užice, Elena Raković-Radivojević, as well as representatives from Serbia's creative, academic, and business circles.
In his speech, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Serbia, H.E. Madi Atamkulov, noted that the opening of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Western Serbia would provide an additional impetus to strengthen the traditionally friendly relations between the two countries with a more active involvement of the regions. N. Selaković, on the other hand, expressed confidence that the new Kazakh representation in this district would give a powerful boost to the development of bilateral tourism and the establishment of business contacts.
It's worth noting that the representation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the city of Užice became the second honorary consulate of Kazakhstan in Serbia. Previously, in 2015, an Honorary Consulate was opened in Belgrade.
