Honorary Consulate of Kazakhstan opened in East Java

The opening ceremony of the Honorary Consulate of Kazakhstan in Surabaya was held in Indonesia, followed by the Kazakh-Indonesian Business Forum. Abdul Gofur, Deputy Chairman of the Surabaya Chamber of Commerce and Industry, head of a number of companies in the fields of information technology, food industry, agriculture, was appointed Honorary Consul of Kazakhstan.

The events were attended by Deputy Minister of Commerce of Indonesia, Jerry Sambuaga, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of East Java Province, Adik Putranto, as well as about 80 representatives of Indonesian companies.

The Ambassador of Kazakhstan, H.E. Daniyar Sarekenov, noted that the prerequisites for the opening of the consulate in East Java were the high economic activity of the province, which forms 15% of Indonesia's GDP, the interest of East Java entrepreneurs in interacting with Kazakh partners, as well as prospects for cooperation in trade, investment, cultural and humanitarian fields.

Kazakh Invest JSC presented information about the favorable investment climate in Kazakhstan to the attention of Indonesian businessmen, called on Indonesian companies to work together on projects in priority sectors of our country's economy. KTZ Express JSC presented the transit and transport potential of Kazakhstan. In turn, QazTrade JSC told about the main articles of Kazakhstan's exports, noting the great potential for increasing trade with East Java. At the same time, representatives of the Astana International Financial Center invited Indonesian companies to actively cooperate in the financial sector and financial technologies.
