Honorary Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan was appointed in the Republic of Korea for the first time

The ceremony of awarding the Honorary Consul's patent to the President of the South Korean company "Dongil Highvill", Ko Dong Hyun, took place at the Embassy of Kazakhstan. Honorary Consul Koh Dong Hyun is the first in such an important post in the history of diplomatic relations between the two states. Its main activity will be aimed at strengthening the work to protect the rights of our citizens, as well as assistance in the development of cooperation in the fields of economy, culture, education and science. The jurisdiction of the Honorary Consulate will include the provinces of Chuncheongnam-do, Chuncheongbuk-do, Chollanam-do, Chollabuk-do, Gyeongsannam-do, Gyeongsanbuk-do and Gangwon-do.

For reference: An Honorary Consulate is an institution headed by an Honorary (freelance) consul who, without being in the civil service of the represented State, performs some consular functions free of charge on his behalf and with the consent of the host State, including the protection of the rights and interests of the State and its citizens represented by him, but excluding the issuance of visas and other official documents.
